This particular work had a previous life as another painting. In the beginning of 2021 I moved to my current space where I finally had the room to work in a much large scale. The previous painting was left unfinished, and had lived the life it was meant. This work and like many of my others don't truly offer something to pull from the painting, like images of things, or objects, but to offer what the painting truly is. Something to visually enjoy. My works draw you in for the detail, and push you back to see the grandeur of what they are. Almost all of the paint is applied by hand, in very gestural, and sporadic applications. I use brushes to wash out some the paint, and do some light layers, that I can't do with my hands. My work is driven by emotions, spinoffs of colors that have inspired me, music, and what's going on in the world. I try to convey that through my use of color and movement.
